What should I do to make my hiring a success?
Communications with the person you hire is key to a successful hire. Whether you're hiring a permanent employee or a professional service provider, you want to make sure they understand your goals and are meeting milestones, you've set out.
You want to get the requirements for the job in writing, so you're both clear on the objectives.
I can't emphasize this enough but you want to make sure you have consistent, clear communications with the person you hire.
Progress Reports or Consistent Checkups
You also want to consistently check up on the progress of the job being done consistently, so you know your objectives are being met. Don't be show about asking progress reports, you are paying to have the job done.
As with hiring permanent employees, often the employee is hired on a probationary period, if you're hiring someone for a project, you can have them do smaller tasks first to make sure they're capable of doing the job you need them for.
Once they're finished with the task, you want to provide honest feedback about the job they've done. Providing positive feedback goes a long way to establishing a positive relationship with the person you hired. However, if you're not satisfied with the work provided, provide constructive feedback, so the person will know how they can improve in the future.
We also allow a 2 week grace period where a review can be hidden this would allow the person you and the person you hired can attempt to work out the differences.
